Are You Struggling to Work Due to Illness or Injury?

As a Certified Disability Management Specialist, I understand how overwhelming it can be when an illness or injury makes it difficult to work, especially when the fear of job loss adds to the stress. My role is to provide guidance, support, and advocacy to help employees navigate this challenging time. I work closely with individuals to explore workplace accommodations, medical leave options, and return-to-work strategies that align with their needs. I also help them communicate effectively with employers and understand their rights under disability and employment laws. My goal is to ensure that no one has to face this journey alone, and that every employee has the opportunity to maintain their livelihood while prioritizing their health.

Helping You Stay At Work and Keep Your Job

In Loving Memory: Eleanor Michalski

My Inspiration is to help others survive

*Above: Our family "F*CK CANCER" holiday picture, no disrespect intended*

It brings tears to my eyes every time I reflect on the cherished memories I have with my dear Aunt Eleanor Michalsky. Her vibrant and sassy soul is no longer with us due to negligence in her health care support. She was proud and didn't want to cause a fuss; managing illness alone.

For years, Auntie E complained of severe and debilitating pain in her abdomen and her physician would not take her seriously enough or escalate the matter for further investigations.... until it was too late. She had an inoperable uterine tumour and would need to fight cancer for the rest of her life. She didn't have patient support to strengthen her voice for help.

The first round of chemotherapy was a huge success, Auntie E was so full of life and energy, that she couldn't help herself to be active and enjoy life to the fullest, taking extra care to love and support her family and friends, including myself. She had a special gift, one that would bring love, joy and happiness to all who crossed her path. Sadly, the tumour continued to grow.

Fast-forward a few years, the cancer metastasized to her lungs, and she was forced to live on oxygen support and fight another round of chemo. I spent many days with Auntie E following those cancer treatments, to help and support her, while her health stubbornly declined.

To witness a strong lady steadily decline, while keeping such a joyful spirit to make everyone else smile and be happy, was heartbreaking and inspiring to help others.

Things were not looking good, she was struggling to breathe, eat, bathe and move. I sat beside her frail body, gently rubbing her back, as the oncologist called to discuss the next steps in her treatment.

The lovely oncologist called and was in tears herself, apologizing that there wasn't anything else they could do, and preparing for her impending death. Auntie E was so strong at that moment, consoling the specialist who repeatedly said that she was one of a kind, her zest for life would be deeply missed. The call ended as I quietly cried on her shoulder, trying to console her - it felt like she didn't need it, she was consoling me as we embraced and felt the reality sink in.

She passed away a few weeks later, very rapidly, as the chemo was stopped. As she spoke to others in support, she proudly claimed that she was closing the last chapter in her book of life, and she was so happy to have the love and care of her family and friends.

It is this story that has compelled me to start a new service, to help patients advocate for the best health care service they deserve. To circumvent the tragic loss of our loved ones. For every purchased service, I will provide a complimentary service to someone in need of support.
